WashU Medicine has a single instance of Heap analytics, with all users logging into one environment. While Heap is an open environment, users should only utilize the platform for analytics and insights into their department/unit.
Basic charts and dashboards have been made for all departments and many units and are available in the shared space. All users of Heap analytics are assigned a “consumer” role, allowing them to make and share additional charts and dashboards. It is recommended that users developing new charts and dashboards keep these in their personal space and only move to the shared space if needing to share with other colleagues in or out of Heap. While charts and dashboards are categorized as “personal” in your personal space, if you move items to the shared space, you must change the category of your chart or dashboard to the appropriate department/unit. If there is not already an appropriate category in Heap for your department or unit, use the Heap assistance form to request a new one be created for you.
IMPORTANT: if you move a chart or dashboard to the shared space, it is recommended that you ask for your chart or dashboard to be verified via the Heap assistance form. If verified, no other users can edit your chart or dashboard.
